ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm originally from Melbourne and have just moved to the UK (Taunton, Somerset) after almost 10 years working in Hong Kong and Singapore. I'm probably the last Australian to visit the UK, but now that I'm finally here I can't wait to see it all!

I've been travelling all over Asia, the US and did the mandatory college road trip around Europe. Most recent places I have visited and loved are southern India, Germany and New Orleans.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just joined couchsurfing and hope to be able to participate in a few things around the country that I wouldn't be able to otherwise. First up is a friend's arts festival in Bristol that I am volunteering at Feb 14-17, ibt13.co.uk.

I'm currently living with my boyfriend's family, but once set-up in our own place I'll be happy to offer a couch!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: George Orwell and Charles Bukowski are favourites, I'm catching up on Hillary Mantel at the moment. Last CD I bought was Yo La Tengo's Fade and The Graduate is probably my favourite film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Asia during the past 10 years has been amazing. Seeing a whole region transform, and each country in its own way, has been a privilege. I travelled a lot with my job so it was phenomenal to regularly visit a city like Saigon, which went from a low-rise, sprawling town with two cash machines to a major metropolis in a very short space of time.

Hmmm, what else? New Orleans at dusk is pretty cool - all the musicians dashing to gigs with their instruments clutched in hand, the sounds and smells starting to drift out of the restaurants and bars. Everywhere has something to show you, I could go on forever!

I have a very general skill set so I'm not enough of an expert in anything to teach, BUT I can help with almost any project you have going on. And if that fails, I can cook!
