To be the best Melanie I can be!
Just your typical Korean-speaking Jewish actress from New York. Bike rider, bunny owner!! Proud member of the Jew crew. Music/arts lover, language learner, educator at heart.
I love singing, and I love music from all over the world. These days I'm listening to a lot of rock, new age and world music (mostly in Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Spanish and German).
Have studied Korean, Japanese, Spanish, German and Hebrew to various extents. I can read and write all of them but understanding them all...that's a different story. :) My Korean's by far the best, which makes sense considering I lived in Seoul for a year and a half.
Anything else you want to know...please ask!!
This isn't really something I can fit in a box on a website. If you'd like to talk about this feel free to contact me and we can. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live about 40 minutes by train to Manhattan proper, and just 15 minutes from Queens. I'm happy to host anyone, but I keep a strictly vegetarian/kosher home and ask that my guests respect this. (If you are not sure what that entails, please ask!)
I have had nothing but AWESOME experiences on CS, both in hosting and in surfing! Most interesting CS experience so far? I hosted a CSer through a hurricane and subsequent power outage and mandatory evacuation from my apartment...on said CSer's birthday. Whew!
In alphabetical order, because I really can't figure out any other way to organize them:
Acting, anime, bike riding, my bunnies (they are the BEST), children's entertainment, communication, cross-cultural relations, DDR, directing, education, film, the harmonica, Judaism, karaoke, the kazoo, kids, Korean culture, languages, learning, music, people, personality typing (primarily the Enneagram and Myers-Briggs systems), poongmul (Korean drumming), spiritualism, swimming, teaching, theatre, travel, video games, voice acting, voiceovers, yoga, and much more...

The entire city of Seoul as the sun went down, making the river sparkle, from the best seat in the house--the middle of one of the bridges going across the Han river.
