About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy the most out of life for as long as possible

ABOUT ME

My friends would first say how friendly and genuine I am. Some of us adore people, and I'm just one of those folks. I know how to squeeze the most fun out of any situation, and will definitely try my best to do so. I've had the good fortune to travel and live abroad, and the more I see the more I yearn to discover ~ my friends can attest that I have an engaging personality and am open to all perspectives. Sunshine, live music, delicious food and good friends are my only true necessities in life ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent the last 3 years living in Prague in the Czech Republic, and couch surfing is very popular there. I had actually never heard of the website until a old flatmate of mine signed us up. About 3 out of 4 weekends we had people on our couch ~ interesting folks from all walks of life and from all over the world. I'm just surprised that it's taken me so long to get around to setting up my own profile!

Interests

As I just mentioned, live music and travel are some of my greatest passions. Enjoying the simple pleasures of life like laughing with friends, sharing freshly baked cookies, puppy wrestling, summer breezes, wine and a beautiful vista, playing with little ones, or even a good movie are all examples. I work as a preschool teacher, so kids are a big part of my life, both personally and professionally.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh this one would take just wayyy too long to write and would change to constantly to bother updating ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

3 moments that left me awestruck? Well, the first that comes to mind is when I traveled to Pompeii, Italy. I spent the day wandering the city, completely dumbfounded by the fact that I was actually there and taking it all in with my own eyes. The buildings, bodies, and artwork were all incredible, and the entire town still smelled of ash and soot! I couldn't believe it. One could literally feel the history of the place as you walked the streets. Another unforgettable moment in my life was when I finally got to see Loch Ness in Scotland. Good fortune was in our favor because it was an unusually warm and sunny day with crystal blue skies on the Loch ~ we even went out on an hour boat ride on the water and were able to capture some breathtaking photos of some of the loveliest ruins I've ever seen. A third moment occurred just 2 days ago; my brother and his wife had their twins a month early. I got to welcome them to the world only a few hours after they were born, and being a part of such an intimate and wonderful event was incredibly moving. Knowing that these little tiny creatures are my family was more powerful than I expected, and as I held my nephew while looking at my brother, the ecstatic newly crowned dad, I was left speechless.

Teach, Learn, Share

Haha, not sure what I can teach anyone over the age of 9 (I work mostly with kids ages 3-5, but have experience with kids of all ages; 1-14 to be exact)! I've never been fired but have had lots of work experience that I'm happy to share, as well as valuable travel tips and connections... I'm a champion baker as well as chocolate connoisseur (not joking ~ we are talking years and years of perfecting my tastebuds!) and am happy to loan my expertise... I just started teaching myself to play the ukulele; does that count for anything? My trivial knowledge is daunting, and I play a mean kazoo. Really, any song you want. Don't be too astounded with my plethora of crucial skills.
