Well...I go by Mel, and I grew up in Keswick, Ontario and I am 22 years old. I have always had a love for travel and I live for adventure and new experiences. I would say I am a fun loving person, who is easy to talk to and get along with. I work as a Paramedic in Simcoe County, so talking to people and living in the moment is literally in my job description. I love fitness and have recently started competing in triathlons. I have traveled inside and out of Canada, and cannot shake this travel bug. The last time I was in Europe was with my best friend Kerri in grade 11, we had an amazing time, and are both counting down the days until we return back for Europe 2.0!!

I am excited to travel and create new experiences and memories, but I do not want to come home from my trip and only remember the hotels I stayed at. I want to experience these towns in Italy from the people who know them the best. I want to live like a local and get the full experience of what this beautiful Country has to offer. I love meeting new people, and I figured this would be an amazing way to do that. I am traveling with my best friend from High School, Kerri! We did a Europe trip in grade 11 and had the most amazing time! But the trip was very touristy, and we want this trip to be a different experience.

Like I mentioned, I have a passion for fitness. I have always loved the hard work and discipline that it takes to reach goals that you set your mind to. I have recently began a new adventure doing triathlons, and so far am loving it! I enjoy doing adventure races; mudhero, tough mudder etc!
A big interest of mine is my job, I love educating myself on the human body and getting to talk all day to new people is amazing! My family is very important to me, and my friends are part of that family.
I am interested in learning about different cultures, and my favourite way to do that is through food! I am a huge foodie, and am always down to pair a good wine to that amazing authentic food!
A couple more things I enjoy doing are camping, fishing, hiking, snowboarding, and anything else that can get me moving outdoors!

Musica, film e libri

Music: Everything! One minute will listen to J. Beibs on the radio, and the next have Pink Floyd or RUSH playing on my ipod.

Movies: Depends on the night. Could go for a tear jerker or Rom-Com. And the next night want to watch an action thriller!

Books: To be honest, I like light reading. I spent so much time in school studying, I love to read simple books that I can fall asleep to. But occasionally I'll pick up an old textbook for a good refresher.

My job allows me to do pretty amazing things; I have delivered babies in the back of ambulances, done CPR and saved peoples lives, helped get people off the edge of buildings. But some of the coolest things I have done are on my own. I raised $1500 for Orphans in Uganda by doing a 3 day tri-adventure weekend this year. I have travelled and done a lot of the things I have wanted to do in my life. And I am happy! So its hard to say I have done 1 amazing thing, but I feel like I live a pretty amazing life :)

I love to share my experiences with people! But I love to learn about other people. I want to know how everyone else lives, and all the cool things they do! I want to be able to share with my friends and family back home what I learned from the locals in all the amazing places I have been.

Kerri and I will be travelling together, so this is more what WE can do for you! We are fun people, who are easy to talk to and get along with pretty much anyone. We were brought up well, and are respectful of other peoples things. We clean up after ourselves, we can 'attempt' to cook you a new meal, and we are the BEST at dishes :) We are going to be travelling with a couple things from home that we would love to share!
