I know it will be difficult for me to make connections on here, but I figured I'd give it a try. I have no plans as of yet, but I'm going to stick around to see where this site will take me. If I can convince my boyfriend, I may host one day.
I haven't had much of an oppurtunity to travel. I'm looking to change that. I'm not expecting this site to change that overnight, but I hope to at least connect with some interesting people. I've lived a pretty rough life, to say the least, and I believe I owe it to myself to be free and perhaps one day do some exploring, even if it's just through local cities or by learning about others' travels. I love to sing, write, cook, eat, drink, and listen to music. I currently live with my paramour outside of St. Louis, MO, and frequently make the quick trip into the city to hang out, bum around, visit my cousins, and party. Coming from a rural midwestern area, I've found it very difficult to meet people that share the same interests as me, and I hope that I might be able to find some level headed free thinkers whom I can share future experiences with. I'd really love to travel to the places I visit locally more safely.
I don't have a very positive outlook on life or people right now...I have my reasons...However, part of the reason I've joined this community is so I can learn to enjoy the world and humanity. I'm in a rut and I need a change!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
To be determined...
I haven't had a CouchSurfing experience through this site YET, but let me tell you, have I ever met some real creeps and buttholes in the past. I used to hitch hike through the rural towns, villages, and cities of southern Illinois/southeastern Missouri, and there are unsavory characters of all kinds in the most unsuspecting of places. However, I have not allowed this to put a damper on my desire to travel. I like to think I've learned how to make wiser decisions in regards to whom I trust these days.
Writing, cooking, playing, being silly, cursing (I have a dirty mouth!), singing, listening and sharing stories, poetry, world cultures, and meeting new people!
Music, Movies, and Books
There are way too many to list, but just to name a few of my favorite things that entertain me...I love Charles Bukowski, Leonard Cohen, Hunter S. Thompson, Wes Anderson, Tod Solondz, The Pixies, good ole' Hip Hop and Electro, 60s pop music, Star Trek, and ABBA...yes, ABBA.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I haven't seen much of anything too great or amazing...and I'm looking to change that!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm one heck of a cook, I've always been an expert advice giver according to friends since I've been through a ton of crap, and I'm always good for earning my keep through any kind of help I can lend.
