About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My goal is to live in harmony with the earth and its people.

PHILOSOPHY

Figure out what you want to grow in your life and grow it (this applies to more than just plants).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Many folks have opened up their homes to me and my friends and family. I want to return the favor.

Interests

I love music! I am from New Orleans and lived there for many years. We live only 1 hour away, so it's nothing for me to just go to the city and listen to amazing music. I love jazz, folk, blues, bluegrass, etc., roots music. A few years ago I decided to teach myself the guitar. Bam! Friends swarmed me. They played and taught me their favorites. I am very much a beginner but love to listen and learn. Since I have so many Latino friends I listen to and love their music: ranchero, cumbia, salsa. I TRY to dance to it.A few years ago we started a Blues fest at our farm. It's small but fun.I worked for NPR many years ago, so I am an NPR junkie. I don't usually listen to commercial radio because the music, although good, is predictable and ubiquitous. All of us on the farm love to read. Books are everywhere.
During the season, one of my favorite things to see is people visiting, relaxing and reading books. So it is no surprise that I'm not a big fan of television watching (although my husband is). I do have to admit to being a baseball junkie and will watch many games. As far a football goes, I prefer to listen to the Saints games on radio (old habit).
Food! How could I forget to say I like to cook and write about food. As a native New Orleanian, food is a very important part of life. Yes! I love to learn to cook new things and eat them.
