I am a simple creature. I am far more enamored with life's subtle idiosyncrasies than any new technology or passing trend.

I like the complexity of the simple things. A nice view. A cappuccino on a brisk afternoon.

I am a hopeless romantic--but not in the "When Harry Met Sally" sort of way--life is my romance.
I believe that living a faith-filled life is the recipe of happiness, the recipe of fulfillment...everything else, is just a matter of consequence.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a newbie. To the site at least--the concept of couch hopping as a means to share community is an engrained value of mine.

But now that I am an official couchsurfer (woo!), I plan on attending some of my local events (Baltimore, DC), hopefully have a coffee or two with some interesting new people, and then I'm off on an exteneded adventure--couchsurfing through the northwest.

I would love to host people, but we have a full house (couches already being used!) and truth be told, I'll be working the majority of the summer to save for this trip (see below.)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As far as I can tell, my first couch-surfing adventure will begin in September. My sister and I have bought Greyhound Discovery passes and are hitting the road for two-months on a full-on exploration of the Northwest. We will be starting in Montana (Glacier National Park), then to Vancouver, then from there we will cruise down the Coast hitting Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Redwood Forest, Yosemite...and that's all we've got so far.

We have a list of things we would like to do--cliff jumping, bike across the Golden Gate Bridge, Find the best Jazz in Seattle, work for wine and cheese in Nappa--but really, we want the trip to take form through the people we meet along the way.

So if you are familiar with these areas and have a vision for our trip, we would love to hear about it!

I'm sure after this, I will have plenty couchsurfing experiences to gush about.

Teach, Learn, Share

I started singing about a year ago. I'll attach a link of a cover, but I do write my own. I really want to push myself out of my comfort zone--just last year, I couldn't sing in public without crying, literally crying, and had the composure of an epileptic. So, this is a big deal to me. I'd love to start sharing.

I have an artist's eye, I'd love to share that with people--I've designed rooms, worked as a graphic artist, enjoy painting, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Ah, I have other skills, but then this starts sounding like a job interview--and then I've talked myself up and we meet and then its like "dance, puppet," but what if I don't want to dance...and I digress.
