About Me

My name is Michael Vargas. I am 22 years old. I currently have an associates in English. I start a new semester at Harvard Extension School in Spring 15'. I love walking for miles away from technology. I love hiking and climbing on things I shouldn't be climbing. I love adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have lived in Hudson County of my whole life. I have traveled to nine states: NJ, NY, MA, PA, RI, FL, VA, ML, CT. However, it was never for too long. I want to visit places across America where I can just connect and vibe with people. I plan to walk across America before I turn 25.

Interests

I love languages! I am a creative person. From writing slam poems to creative pieces. I'm a people person. I love talking about anything random and/or philosophical. Life is best lived with company through words, movement, and energy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love instrumentals. Instrumental bring out emotions. Emotional responses to music notes become unheard lyrics.
Favorite movies: Into the Wild, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Instructions Not Included, The Sea Inside, too many to list!
Books: The Butterfly Effect by James Swallow, Identical by Ellen Hopkins, the writings of philosophers, such as Socrates, Plato, Karl Marx, et al.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 19, I was one round away from performing in the Apollo Theater in the New York Knick's Poetry Slam finals! I made it to semi-finals; still proud of myself for making it that far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learn how to solve the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, Rubiks cube via YouTube. The cool thing about the Rubik's cube, even though it's based on Math, its easy to learn with no math insight on the cube.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my energy with hosts! I love to learn from many, many branches of life. I love to have conversations. Literally could be about nothingness to philosophical issues to the universe.
