About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the whole guddam world

ABOUT ME

I guess I'm pretty much an outdoorsy person now, that wasn't always the case and I'm still a little surprised at myself as I watch dawn from a mountaintop or swim in the depths of the ocean. Let's go adventure!

Unless it's a lazy Sunday afternoon, then I'm probably watching movies or reading under the cover of my sleeping bag, contemplating cooking a magnificent feast. Let's go eat!

PHILOSOPHY

Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die!

Interests

In the clean air I love to go hiking, short day walks or several nights' trekking, it's all good. My other big thing is SCUBA diving, being under the water is like being in another world, the more dives I do the more I love it. A few months ago I smashed my foot up pretty bad in a stoopid climbing accident, but it's getting back to full health now, so developing my rock climbing is high on the agenda for the foreseeable.

If I'm in a town or city then it's all about the food, the coffee, the galleries, the beer and wine, the movies, the food... Culture, innit!

Above all of that my chief interest, the thing that keeps me going, is just 'this', the life of travel. Meeting new people, seeing new places, doing new things, always learning and always improving the self. Walking cliche, huh.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a soft spot for the old black and white movies, and for the kind of art-house fodder which makes me feel all intellectual and douchebaggy, but sometimes I just want to watch aliens get all blowed up by giant robots. So I guess... a varied taste? A broad pallet?

The same goes for books, TV, music... I have my go-to preferences for genres but I'm always curious about what else is out there to affect my mind, to challenge me, or just to entertain.

PS. Game of bloody Thrones!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The other day I rode about the desert on horseback and watched the sun set over the Giza pyramids, that was pretty amazing.
