About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life,

ABOUT ME

I want to see as much as I can while I'm here. There is so much to see, and so many people to meet. The world is an amazing place :D. -- Sing like no one's listening, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching, and live like its heaven on earth..."

I'm pretty easy going, but I don't like people telling me who I should be, how I should do things, etc. Live and let live. I'm pretty open to other people, but for myself I like what I like. I don't try to fix it, and I try to do the things that make me happy as often as I can. I love meeting new people and learning about their experiences, while at the same time sharing mine. Though, I do have a tendency to share mine a lot. If we are lucky, life gives us many stories to tell, and it is satisfying to tell them.

PHILOSOPHY

"Before we were born we knew only death. Then we came to know life, and death was no longer enough for us - it has come to disgust us and turn our stomachs. So, while we are alive we must live in the face of what disgusts us. We must live, if it is only to spite our own deaths" - Me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to Couch surfing, but I do plan to host once when I'm not out travelling, if I can :D.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't used this site, but I have surfed a few couches. I much prefer, when I travel, to stay with locals. It's much easier to find my way around, and to really get to know a place. I don't just want to be a tourist when I go somewhere, I want to know what it's like to live there as well.

Interests

I like anime, manga, older Doctor Who, Transformers, computers, video games, going out, shopping, etc. I like parties, good music, and good food, especially.

My favorite music genres are classic rock, alternative, and metal - but I enjoy most types of music, and am always looking to discover new and different types.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sci fi, fantasy, manga mostly. Piers Anthony, Robert Jordan, Roger Zelazny, Tolkien, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, I walked 40k one day into wetlands in Australia. I'm not sure why, but, I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life. Jogging down the beach in Casablanca, up to where the magicians live... Breda, Holland at Christmas is probably the most wonderful thing, ever. It's beautiful. The changing of the guard at Buckingham palace. Akihabara is where I want to be buried when I die. Sunrise at Daytona, and sunset in Clearwater. The Rocky Mountains... I don't know. I've seen so many things, they are all so awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been programming and working with computers since I was 9. Also, I like to cook, some martial arts - even if I haven't been to the gym in a while, making, a little carpentry, a little gardening - I love growing hot peppers and fermenting hot sauce. Personally, I don't believe in teaching. We all teach ourselves. I think that someone who knows how to do a thing can help someone who is learning to do a thing by pointing them in the right direction, and helping them with difficult hurdles on the way. It's better to encourage someone to become a better learner than it is to hold their hand. Because, if someone becomes better at learning, they become better at everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Quite a bit, if needed. From information to interesting company (I've had a crazy life), to just about anything. If I like someone, and I'm there, I tend to help in whatever way I can. Which, I have a lot of different skills and experience that I've accumulated over the years.
