ABOUT ME

My name is Michaela. I've lived in Germany, the USA, and Senegal. I love traveling and I am currently spending this summer in Europe, meeting childhood friends, family, and a lot of really friendly new people.

I'm starting college this fall and will most likely study film, philosophy, and anthropology.

I'm really new to Couch Surfing so I'm not 100% sure what I'll be able to do, but I probably can always offer someone a couch in Colorado to crash on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Cinema Paradiso, Paris Je T'aime, and some others. But I tend to forget about movies.

Music: A lot of chill music. Air, Arcade Fire, etc.

Books: Unbearable Lightness of Being, Infidel, We- I'll update this when I think of more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I delayed my college experience to live in Senegal for seven months. I volunteered in a women-run boutique, lived with a host grandmother and sister, and really became aquainted with a people and beautiful landscape.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learn from everyone I take the time I get to know. But I learn the most from people who are very different from me, which would mean shy and deliberate people.
