ABOUT ME

I've traveled throughout the US and the world. Did construction work in California, Colorado, and Arkansas. Taught college in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Florida and California. I taught a year in Omsk, Russia, and I've been to South America, Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Belize, western Europe, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Next goal: Brazil!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hundreds of students every semester and I try to get them to challenge all established assumptions. I play in the "Cochino Daddy Band" which is a mix of Latin, Irish, Bluegrass and Jazz. I'm running for Congress as a Green Party candidate and I've been a political agitator for years. Love my two sons and spend as much time as possible with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to host a surfer nor have I surfed myself. I have heard only good things and I would love to host people from other countries--Americans tend to be a bit ignorant of other nations/cultures ;))

Interests

Teaching, academic writing (I'm working on a book about the history of fraud in the US) music, and number one, my kids. I just returned from Cuba with my son Eli and we had a blast.
