Organising my upcoming trip.
I'm 25 years old, currently working in a chemical laboratory.
Love any form of travel and keen to go almost anywhere. No reason required.
My dream journey, that I hope to make within the not-too distant future, is to fly a light aircraft solo around the world. To go through all 7 continents, visit both poles and see the sights most people never get to.
I spend more time thinking about this than I probably should, and still can't come up with a coherent answer.
Life's probably meaningless, so either try to find the meaning, or just enjoy yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm active in the Auckland Couchsurfing community, and have couchsurfed in places around the world.
I've couchsurfed and hosted, gone to and organised CS events and done trips with other CS'ers.
Politics and aviation. Yes, I know it's a strange combination. I hold a Private Pilots Licence (although it's not current) and love to fly, love the feeling of freedom it gives. Also have a strong interest in politics, and was actively involved in New Zealand politics in the past.
Other than that, I'm quite a technically minded person. Anything sufficiently complex or novel can entertain me for quite a while.
And of course travel, like everyone else here. My main interest at the moment.
Music, Movies, and Books
Don't read quite as much as I used to, but Arthur C. Clarke has always been my favourite author. Currently making my way through Tolkien's works (just over halfway through The Two Towers at the moment), but I've been known to read just about anything.
I'm happy watching just about any TV show/movie, although I have a preference for sci-fi/action when I'm trying to relax. Watch probably a bit too much sci-fi, although much of it is terrible.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learning to fly. Nothing quite compares to being up in the sky on your own.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've taught maths in the past, and can help you out with English, physics, chemistry and possibly basic Russian as well. Pretty good at finding cheap and unusual travel routes/methods as well.
Keen to learn German, and possibly a bit of Serbo-Croatian/Bosnia for my upcoming trip.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Germany, Israel, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
Latvia, New Zealand
