About Me

Quiet until we get to know each other. I'm more of an introvert than an extrovert. I love the outdoors and hiking. I live near a bike trail. I do like to show off Alaska because the scenery is gorgeous. I also love music and enjoy listening to local artists. I work full time so I have a weekly routine. I live with my 18 year old and a jack Russell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My daughter will likely be moving in with her fiancé soon so I want to start traveling again. I love exploring new places and I have always wanted to travel all over the world. Being a single parent, i have had to keep a strict budget. I think this could be fun and I can meet people all over the world. I find that intriguing.

Interests

I love being in nature. I love scenery. I like to walk, hike, bike, and swim. I love live music and I enjoy learning about different cultures. I like photography, art, sculptures, landscapes, and wildlife. I just want to take in all the beauty each place holds.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is totally dependent on my mood. I like singer, songwriters, acoustic guitar, classic rock, jazz, funk, and jam bands. I like comedies, kid movies with imagination, superheroes, and feel good movies. I like to read either fantasy like fae realms, or philosophy books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped get a grant to start a Boys and Girls club in King Cove, Alaska.

Teach, Learn, Share

Here in Anchorage I can tell people places to eat, drink, and listen to music. I can tell people about different hikes that are nearby. I can also give some tips on fishing and camping. I am well aware of Alaskan natives and different cultures here. I can even teach some native arts and crafts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to know about where they live, things they do for fun, places they love in their home. I want to learn about their culture, music, food, dance, arts and crafts. I also like learning history and of course personal stories.

Countries I’ve Visited

Marshall Islands
