About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my horizons

ABOUT ME

I was a lecturer in Criminology and Sociology for some years but I am in transition at the moment. (giggle) Yes maybe a midlife reassessment but hay I never had the terrible two's or the teenage rampage years, so it's my time now I guess! I have tour managed and promoted local bands. I also enjoy making short films and music videos. I embrace my own culture and those of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My children are grown now and still being single I wish to explore the world. Inspired by Romanian CouchSurfer Luana Botas who embarked on a 80-day journey around the world. The adventure is based on her favorite book, Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days, with one important difference: she will visit all the 12 cities on the itinerary of the main character, Phileas Fogg, without leaving her home in Birmingham, England. I hope to try and do something similar so please invite yourself to my home and share a recipe with me. But more than that I also hope to travel to other places to share and find out more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to this!

Interests

I love going to festivals and gigs. Mostly psychedelic folk stuff but have done loads of raves in my earlier years. I have made music videos and worked as a tour manager and promoter of new talent. So I am used to having bands stay over at my home.

Music, Movies, and Books

variety of such things, the more that can be introduced to me the better. These things are like hidden treasures!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The milky way at the top of a rather large hill in my sleeping bag whilst the sheep bleated in a way that made one sure they really did understand each other. The stars also being awesome!

The moment the applause happens after you see the band please when all that hard work paid off with a smile.

Teach, Learn, Share

Each of us have something to share. It just may take asking a few more questions to find out what that something is.
