About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover people, places, and unforgettable moments!

ABOUT ME

I like to take life one day at a time. I don't like to be caught up in negativity- life is beautiful and should be discovered! I am an absolute animal lover- so if you have pets, expect me to give them lots of love and attention! Both my parents work for airlines so I grew up traveling around the United States and when I became older I started taking semester study abroad trips and community service trips around the world. I like to take it all in. I believe the best way to see a country and culture is to see it with a local. My main hobby and sport I participate in is equestrianism (riding horses). I've spent a good part of my life in competition but now I just enjoy riding for fun. I also enjoy reading everything from novels to poems. The perfect day for me would be having a beer with friends listening to some live music.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe people are greatly influenced by the people they look up to. I see myself mold and change through the years due to the different experiences I've had and by the different people I've met. I believe everyone can teach me something new- that's why it's important to surround yourself with new people and places!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CouchSurfing so I am filled with nerves and excitement! I want to treat my host- take them out and have a beer or glass of wine. I love listening to people's stories. I will treat their home with respect as if it were mine. I am a very tidy person and I am more than willing to clean up around the house and cook a meal for everyone! CouchSurfing seems like a wonderful way to meet new people and learn about other cultures. I hope that when I get my apartment, I will be able to host regularly!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am completely new to Couchsurfing. However, I have stayed with host families before. Each experience was unforgettable and amazing. I still keep in contact with my host families. So expect a Holiday card in the mail if you host me!

Interests

My interests include riding horses, fostering homeless animals, traveling, going to flea markets and finding amazing clothes, reading, writing, listening to music, attempting to learn languages, watching baseball, and going hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books would be Catcher in the Rye, Diary of Anne Frank, anything by the Bronte sisters, and Steven King novels. My favorite television would be The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Perhaps the most amazing thing I've done is spent time at an Elephant rehabilitation center in Thailand (I included a picture in my album!) As I've said before, I am a huge animal lover. These elephants were either abused or neglected and this center took them in and retrained them and got them healthy again. During my time there, I was assigned an elephant. Her name was Ma Noi and she was 14 years old. Her and I walked into the jungle together to get to know each other. We were both shy towards each other. I fed her a basket of bananas and she touched my face with her trunk. I spent hours just watching her and playing with her. After we bonded, I could ride her and give her baths in a river. She was a magnificent animal and I miss her dearly. I want to go back one day and see how she is doing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: English, riding horses, American camp games, and many weird facts.
Learn: your language, your favorite thing to cook, the best place to take a walk in your home town, perhaps a skill you have!
Share: Our cultures, our interests, music, food, dancing!
