One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We saw a revolution start against the king in Nepal.
We saw wilds platipus and a casoar in Australia witch is really rare even for australian.
And when I was young (long time ago it was still Yougoslavia)I was hitch- hiking from Turquey to France. I was in NorthYougoslavia and arrived near the Italian border.
A man was there by the side of the road. He didn't speak English and ask me with his hands and some English words if I was going to the border, I said yes, so he propose me to walk together to there about 2kms futher.
All the way long, he was chowing me the fields around, telling me that we could go cross the border by the fields.
I said to him that I've had my passport and that I didn't want to take risk for nothing, so he stop to talk about that.
When we arrive just before the border, say 100m, the man start to run like a crazy to the Italian border, wher the Italian's custom catch him.
Yougoslavian custumers jump on me asking me who was this guy, where he was coming from ans so and so.
There were really angry, so after they search all my bag and my body, they start to interrogate me for about two hours threating me to break my head with a big electric cable.
The problem is no one of them were speaking English....
After 2 hours a new officer arrived and alleluia, he was speaking English, so I explain him all the story and the same guy who was threating me before was laughting with me after, like if it was a good joke...
To Finish the Yougoslavian custom let me free, but Italian custom refuse me to enter Italy, saying I've had help this guy to cross the border illegally...
So I've had to come back into Yougoslavia again with no problem cause the custom were now my best friends....
I was in the shit, how to go back to France from Yougoslavia without crossing Italia?????
Finally I went to the bank to try to exchange my last 5 deutshmark ( yes I forget to tell you that I've had no more money)but it was a coin and normally bank don't exchange coin....
The women who works in the bank saw my distress, so she accept to change the coin.
With the Yougoslavian money I bought a train ticket to the next town in Italy.
In the train I was really anxious about the Italian custom but when they arrived one of them call me cousin nearlly kissing me cause I was French, and I finnally arived in Italy, Yessssss!!!!!
I forgot to tell you that the customs said me that apparently the running guy was Bulgarian and that he have had cross the Yougoslavian's border illegally.
Anyway everything finished well and that teach me to take care near the borders!
