About Me

CURRENT MISSION

wanna try all sorts of cuisine around the globe! wanna meet tons of cool people!

ABOUT ME

I'm just an average Joe studying translation(Chinese<--->English) and fantasizing being one of the top-notch interpreters. Delving into the realm of translation has given me a chance to see my own mother culture and other cultures differently. Now I’m struggling to ameliorate my capacity and have come to realize that there’s still a long way to go. Life is hard though. If it’s not a bumpy road, there wouldn’t be any fun.

PHILOSOPHY

No matter how much you've accomplished all your life, you will get nothing but a coffin when you kick the bucket. Yet it doesn't mean that you can just sit there goofing around. You still need to work hard and live everyday as if it is your last day. Bon courage!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I happened to learn of CouchSurfing from my cousin. If it wasn’t because of him, I would never have known there’s a wonderful platform for like-minded travelers to exchange cultural experiences! Hats off to those who participate in CouchSurfing.

Interests

reading novels preferably the ones with thought-provoking and gut wrenching stories. these days i've been hooked on Jodi Picoult's novels. her novels might be the only ones which i can finish within a few days (i am a slow reader and normally finishing one novel takes me about 2 weeks);
-------------------------------------
playing the piano. when i was little i always fantasized about being a great pianist. Martha Argerich was and is still my idol!! yet as time went by i've come to realize that my skill would never be as superb as that of Argerich's. though i gave up my dream , i still play the piano whenever needed.
-----------------------------------------------
learning new languages. learning a new foreign language can be challenging and frustrating but is fun most of the time! it's always a good exercise for the brain (and the tongue!!)
now i'm struggling with the most romantic ''langue'' in the world---French. hope some day i'll be able to master the language!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done is do something I've never done... sounds quite philosophical huh...
Alright, no beating around the bush! The most wonderful thing I've ever done might be having my own piano recital last summer. Now, I still cannot believe that I made it and tided it over! Guess it might be my one and only recital.
