About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel Latin America. Develop the alt-travel site Voyageurs-du-Net.com. See, learn, write. Teach.

ABOUT ME

Imagination above all. And kindness & brotherhood. Politics comes just next. Revolt, rebellion, indignation. Literature & arts.

I am a journalist, not the kind that goes with a leash and barks for its capitalist masters. I dedicate my time now to the creation of a site specialized on alternative travels, unusual places, ecotourism.

I and a friend - who's working with me on that very project - have spent 2 months 1/2 in Guatemala, giving journalism workshops to Guatemalans who learn french in the local French Alliance. These workshops helped them learn more about their country, about ecology, ecotourism, about the disgusting mass tourism industry and their consequences.

With a few persons I met locally, I'll try to create an anonymous, collective and militant blog, so that all their protests gather on one platform... After all, the blogs did play a role in the Arab revolutions, didn't they ? That probably ain't much, but inciting and helping people give voice and fight for their dignity seems to me a very concrete way of testifying brotherhood.

I'm said to be very funny, absurdly funny. I love all that is unusual, uncommon, beautifully absurd, poetic and somewhat troubling. But I can get fascinated and amused by very daily things, weird prononciations, silly or absurd plays on words...

I'm lively (some would say nervous), I need movement, whether it be physical or in terms of imagination. Only the dead stay still.

I need intellectual challenge, I love having endless intellectual, conceptual, poetical, political conversations while wandering for hours. Situationnist drifting.

I love arts (so I hate what they call "contemporary arts"), painting above all, but am also curious - though not very informed yet - & attracted to Precolombian arts and, more generally, what is called "primitive arts", especially masks & sculptures.

I love all about creativity, reason why I like Yves Klein a lot for his ability to poetize life ; same for Alejandro Jodorowsky. They do/did know that life can be wider than what most of us think, with our restricted sight & conceptions. It is all about creativiy & theatricallity.

I love to play, indeed. Regarding that I'm a wise, grown-up child.

PHILOSOPHY

Isn't there wisdom in the fact of playing? Isn't there what's essential?

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Toboggan in Paris metro ; getting expelled from the basement of a gay bar because my g/f & I were making out ; dancing on the side of the void of the balcony while drunk ; contouring with a chalk my friend lying on the sidewalk, as they do with dead bodies on crime scene, and then drawing it happily with flowers & arrows and all kindsa things ; seducing a woman in the most surrealistic way, with faking an english accent and pretending I was from "Kissland"...

Teach, Learn, Share
