Overview
About Me
I've lived in Asia, Africa and Latin America, and visited 100 countries, both as a journalist and a traveler, writing about politics, war, travel, health, agriculture, and more. Currently I live in Washington, DC.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am flying in to attend the wedding of a friend after a screw up by the cruise line on which the wedding party is traveling cost me my booking. I have already booked another flight, but hotel prices in Bermuda are so high that I may cancel it unless I can find a place to stay. The wedding is Monday night, and should be fun. Anyone one who hosts me can come as my guest, and will have a place to stay when they come to DC.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Here are three: Traveled to 100 countries, jumped out of an airplane (with a parachute), hang glided, lived through an earthquake (in California) walked over a flowing river of lava (in Hawaii), been shot at (as a war reporter) and been kicked out of three countries (also as a reporter).
