Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Use our semi retirement to visit and enjoy new places and new cultures. I would love to pack up and go somewhere where we are completely out of our comfort zone and maybe teach English
ABOUT ME
I worked most of my career for the Sydney Water Authority, Now called simply Sydney Water. I hjad many different careers withing that organisation and that is why I didn't move on to another.
I started as a Trainee Draftsperson, became a Team Leader, then the Manager of the Department, then moved into Business Planning and Strategy, later into Quality Management, then onto a long term IT Project as Business Requirements Project Manager and finally into Business Process Improvement. I took early retirement in May 2006. I started driving a Hire Car in June that year until March 2009 when I moved on due to the downturn in the economy and the impact on our corporate and government bookings. I saw an advert for Bus Drivers and was lucky to win a job and have completed my training and have just started driving our Local School Buses. Learning to drive a bus was perhaps the most difficult thing I've done but its all good fun now!
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
Have fun and don't hurt anyone in doing so.
We are here for a good time not a long time!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am very new here and was alerted to the Project bu my son Matt (aged 26). I thought my partner and I would be beyond the age group that the Project would support but it appears that I was wrong.
We would be happy where possible to host (up to 2 people) for a couple of days. We live in Winmalee in te mid Blue Mountains of New South Wales.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Assisted at the birth of my daughter Alexandra. Unbelievable! I was there also when my son Matthew was born but due to complications the birth became a caesar. The journey with both of them since their arrival on our panet has been an amazing and wonderful experience. (No I'm not a dreamer, there have been tough times as well but hopefully we have learned from them)
