Smart, funny, and fun. I like to get out into the world and share stories and opinions with people. Good food is the only food. I like a drink now and then and I love the beach. I am happily married and crazy about dogs and difficult cats.

Interests

My main focus right now is my life as a PhD student, studying data privacy and digital ethics. Music is very important to me. I've been making music most of my life. I've played guitar in a lot of rock bands and I compose music for performances, like dance and theater. Embracing art and culture is one of the things I like to do when I travel, and when I'm home. I like to hike, backpack, ski and do just about anything in the woods.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Unexpected invitation to dinner with a family in the Mekong Delta. The host picked out the best morsels for me and gave me liquor from a clorox bottle. Closer to home, I took in a spectacular view of the North Cascades from Indian Pass at the end of an incredible back-country trip.
