About Me

When I am not working, I like to doodle with my brush, make music, daydream, or watch people and animals in my lovely city, Kyoto. I like the slow world we used to have, when people would read a book under the tree, write diaries, send postcards and small presents to each other, and play boardgames by the fireplace. Sometimes I like to have friendly conversation with you, my guest and my new friend from afar, over a cup of hot tea, or chocolate.

If you are my guest, I want you to feel like home and have a really comfy stay. But I am not running a charity or a free hostel. So I make connection with people only if I see the person is very interesting and that there is some kind of meaningful exchange. I do pick my guests carefully -- be warned ;) If you read through my profile and send me a witty request, you will have a better chance! Families and guys with hosting experience are welcome.

My heart drops every time I see a nameless request, which unfortunately I get too regularly. Before asking to enter someone else's house, it is always helpful to know at least the person's real name and introduce yourself properly - just like in real life.

I have a website, mostly my writing, but also some fun stuff: billmak.com
