We are on couch surfing because meeting people and sharing stories is really such a delight! We want to see what actual life is like in the countries we get to visit, rather than be funnelled through the classic tourism path. We want to learn about the culture, food, music, get invited to go dancing/events that we would otherwise not know about! To be able to share and connect with strangers from around the world is a major reason I travel.
We love a hostel, but being away for so long creates a desire for homes with happy energy and lived in spaces, sometimes.

Books: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield is an excellent read for anybody with creative pursuits. Highly recommended, The Name of The Wind, Flowers For Alganon, Harry Potter

We have had a goal on this trip to do at least one particularly amazing thing in each country. So far we’ve:
- Hiked for 2 weeks in the Himalaya in winter
- Drove motorbikes for three days through the Rajasthan desert in India and slept in the dunes (DIY safari!)
- Learned to scuba dive in Thailand
