I travel very often to Asia (Thailand, the Philippines, India, China, Indonesia) for work, often to Poland or France to visit family, and will finally have time off this year to travel for pleasure. When I land in a new city, I like to visit fresh markets or convenience stores to sample local snacks and observe shopping behaviours before hitting up must-see museums or historical sites. I'm not much of a photographer and I can't stand sitting still for a picture, instead I tend to get lost in my thoughts, surroundings, and good conversation as I sight-see. For me, nothing helps with jet lag quite like a cold cocktail and a long walk.
I speak French, English, and Mandarin rather fluently, in addition to basic Polish, Japanese, and Spanish.
In my free time, I get into heated political, cultural, or culinary debates with friends, waste time on Steam, go for long-distance jogs around historical D.C., and translate pop songs and poetry.
