À propos de moi

To explore, to see everything I can and learn as much as possible while I'm at it. And pick up some friends along the way.

Wow, ALL about me is a big question. That's everything from the fact that I hate waking up in the mornings but I still collect sunrises while I'm traveling to the fact that my favorite smells are books, rain, and fire to the fact that I've got an incurable case of wanderlust. I can't possibly include everything about me. So I'll include the important stuff. I'm a linguistics major and I hope to join the Peace Corps after I graduate. After that, I don't really have a plan. Service is hugely important to me, I'm in a service fraternity (Alpha Phi Omega) and whatever I end up doing, I hope to make it something that helps others. I'm a dog person, but I also love my cat like he's my child, so there's that. I have a great sense of humor (read: I think I'm funny) and I love to chat with people and collect stories.

I call myself a wanderer rather than a traveller because I really do wander more than I travel. The destination isn't nearly as important as the journey, so I sort of go galavanting off on whatever adventure presents itself to me and figure that I'll work it out as I go along. But, as Tolkien wrote, "Not all those who wander are lost."

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I participate by throwing myself into the things that I do wholeheartedly. I'm involved, as I said before, in Alpha Phi Omega, and on campus I volunteer with adult English as a Second Language classes and the Red Cross Club (organizing blood drives). I did a Habitat for Humanity trip to El Salvador my freshman year. I've volunteered in local schools and at the admissions office at the College of William & Mary.

I haven't had any couchsurfing experiences yet! But a few friends of mine who I've been traveling with have and they all highly recommended it. I can't wait to meet people and start racking up stories.
