About Me

Not taking guests atm, but this might change once I have an own place in autumn!

Hey there!
I am a 19yrs old childminder and an absolute wanderlust victim. That's why I work abroad in Scotland at the moment (which is also why I can't take guests). :)
My hobbies include - but are not limited to - writing, drawing, painting, reading, photography and simply going for walks. I am also a huge animal lover, no matter if cat, dog, horse or highland cattle, I love them all; I own a cat myself and grew up with birds, bunnies and dogs.
One can say about me that I am a very calm person and I don't chatter away. Which doesn't mean that I shy out of conversations, I simply won't force my life story on you. Also, don't mistake my respectfulness with shyness, I prefer testing the waters and see how much of interaction you want to have with me.
Due to my calm nature, you will never have to put up with me smoking, being drunk or coming home from partying into the morning hours.
If you enjoy sharing inside knowledge about your culture, I'd be enchanted to be your "student"! Read more below why. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As already stated above, I am an absolute wanderlust victim. But I am not someone who easily moves on from places, I prefer really getting to know a country. I love learning about a culture, its past, its present and its people, but not only through exploring its history, looking at its art and eating its local food, no. Instead: How could you better learn more about a country's culture and people if not from the people themselves? Who else could educate me better on the differences between my own culture and the one I am visiting than a local? Who else could tell me small fun facts that only locals know, point interesting food out to me that is typical for this country but never mentioned in guide books?
I simply don't enjoybeing the stereotypical tourist who rushes through the sights to see, eats at McDonalds for lunch and falls asleep in a stereotypical hostel or hotel. I want to see the world, not the same stuff in different locations all over again every time I travel.
But I also love meeting new people and I am absolutely down for making acquaintances and friends, which is another bonus of couchsurfing. But don't worry; I am respectful and will leave you alone if you had a bad day or if you simply want me to.
And another reason is that I am a budget traveller. I want to be sincere with you, but that doesn't make my intention to learn more about your culture not less genuine. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh dear, here we go... Have a list (that is not really a list)
- Harry Potter
- Weird films like The Lobster
- Deep films like Requiem for a Dream or Call Me by Your Name, The Circle
- Not so weird films like Marvels Thor, Star Wars, Bullyparade, Look Who's Back
- Basically any kind of film
- And I listen to every kind of music
- Like, Sucker for Pain by Lil Wayne, Centuries by Fall Out Boy, Blank Space by Taylor Swift, Dernière Danse by Indila, Fallen Angel by Within Temptation, ... you get the idea
- Memoirs of a Geisha is one of my most favourite books.
- But so are Neither Wolf nor Dog and The Wolf at Twilight by Kent Nerburn
- Just keep me away from YA-Novels. Big nope here.
- Thrillers, Fantasy and books that focus on other cultures. That's my jam.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- If you fancy some Austrian/Bavarian food, I can do that.
- I can also help you out with German, no matter if its a basics-crash-course or you are already pretty fluent. Bavarian dialect is also something I can "teach" you.
- If you plan a trip to Munich, Passau/lower Bavaria in general or Hamburg (not as much knowledge on it as on the other destinations, but still), I can help you organising it and can give you tips.
- What else could I share with you? ~ List will be continued
