live my life!
Hm.... What can I say? I consider myself as a friend person, get very excited about the little things in life and love travelling and exploring new places as well as meeting people to find out their story :) . I'm originally from Germany but have been living in awesome Brighton in the UK on and off for almost 10 years. It's a good place and who has ever been there knows why and who hasn't, should come to visit ;)
I went travelling for the first time about 5 years ago and spent a year in beautiful New Zealand. I had the best time ever and so didn't want to leave. Therefore New Zealand has still a special place in my heart :) . I got to see a little bit of other countries on my way and back. Loved Hong Kong and my time in California :) and went on quite a few little Europe trips last year.
At the moment I'm on my latest adventure: one year working holiday in Aussie. I got side tracked though! Back in New Zealand again for now and happy as (long story! :))
Back in Brighton in 2014 I discovered swing dancing (love it!!!) and part of this adventure is travelling to swing festivals on this side of the world. I was really impressed by Melbourne's dancing scene for my first destination!!
Read more on my blog if you are into that sort of thing :-)
That's me for now. Looking forward to meeting more couchies on this trip :) .
Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I can and I do my best do be a good guest when I surf :)... I love to meet people from CS to exchange travel stories and to be part of events and group activities... I give my best to spread the spirit and to be good company :)
There are too many amazing stories to be told and there is simply not enough room here! :) Couchsurfing changed my life! From the day I hosted my first couchsurfer in Brighton ... I met the most amazing people, stayed with great hosts, did fun trips organised by couchsurfing groups, got to see things and places I would've never without certain couchsurfers. I hosted fun people in different places and made friends for life! The world feels small now. When I returned to Germany after my first travels, couchsurfing friends from all over the world kept popping in to say hi ... Awesome :-)! I'll never forget New Years in Berlin in 2011 when quite a few of us from different places met to celebrate a big one! :). I'm glad the internet exists so we all can easily stay in touch no matter where we are! :)
travelling! Discovering new places!
love listening to stories!
I've started learning how to play the guitar and the ukulele :)
Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies! Could go to the cinema every day!! I like all sorts of movies but prefer thrillers, scary movies and dramas... too many to write down here...
one of my favourite movies is 'Pulp Fiction'. You can never go wrong with that one :-).
I read lots of Stephen King when I was a teenager. He is a great writer!
I like thrillers and also books you learn something from.
I like different types of music but love guitars! :).. here a few of my favourites:
Mumford and Sons
I also love Jazz, which made me start dancing swing. My favourite is Louis Jordan
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh! Has it always been ONE amazing thing?? Haha..
I was walking 1.6 miles over the Golden Gate Bridge - and back!! Always wanted to do that!! :)
Looking down the Grand Canyon! Felt so tiny! ...
Climbed Mt. Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom from Lord of the Rings)all by myself when walking the Tangoriro Crossing. Pretty intense as I'd never done rock climbing before... So proud when I made it up ... and down!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach? I could teach you how to do a hair cut... I'm always up for learning something new on the guitar:) ... how about sharing good food? :)
