My New Year's resolution for 2018 was to get out and do more stuff, including take more trips. This year I'm planning a road trip to New England, a part of the US I've never visited before.

Música, películas y libros

I read history, nonfiction, classical literature, folklore and fairy tales, and fantasy. Terry Pratchett is one of my favorite modern authors. Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movies are great, and Game of Thrones and Sherlock are favorite shows. Regarding music, I tend toward more ethnic/world stuff...e.g. starting at Loreena McKennitt and getting more weird and obscure from there.

I wouldn't say I've done anything outright amazing (yet...my 2018 New Year's resolutions center on changing that). The closest things would be: 1) I wrote a 100K-word fantasy novel as part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November 2013, and 2) I've had some of my artwork published on the covers of trade magazines.

I'd love to improve my skills in some of my current hobbies (mostly artwork), and I'd love to learn new skills too--pretty much anything to do with nature and the outdoors.

I've lived in a variety of places, both growing up and as an adult (Wisconsin, Texas, Montana, Ohio, and Saskatchewan, Canada), so I can share a few stories from here and there. I'm also happy to share and teach some of my hobbies--and I'm up for creating a custom piece of art for a host!
