About Me

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Michael. Nice to meet you. I'm a 25 year old guy from Duesseldorf, Germany, where I've lived most of my life.

Even though I have traveled quite a bit and love learning about new cultures, I am most interested in humanitarian pursuits, specifically the health concerns of my fellow friends. I have trained extensively and currently work as a paramedic, but am looking forward to continuing my education in medicine, in order to give back to society.

I am naturally an extrovert and get along well with many different types of people. I find myself comfortable in most any social situation and make new friends easily. For fun, I equally enjoy social activities like going out dancing and going to concerts, but am also drawn to activities that involve quiet and solitude like camping and bouldering.

PHILOSOPHY

Express yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel as much as I can while I'm young, so CS seems to be a good possibility for me to see the world. I have already surfed in New York City, Ithaca, NY, the adirondack mountains, and am heading to Niagara Falls and the Bahamas. This is just a start!

I'd like to meet new people from all over the world and learn more about their individual culture(s).

When I return from this holiday, I look forward to hosting other couchsurfers, not only to meet additional people, but to help provide great travel experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just started couchsurfing, but thus far, I have had some great and diverse experiences. I've even met some lifelong friends! Due to these experiences, I plan on continuing with couchsurfing and the couchsurfing culture. It's a great way to meet new people and reciprocally share life and travel experiences.

Interests

My interests are travelling and spending time with my friends. In addition, I like Scuba-Diving, bouldering, camping, skiing, playing tennis, listening to music, and I even have a license to fly a glider. Sitting in a cafe and drinking coffee is a great way to socialize.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Reggae and Jazz, Hip-Hop and Soul, indie rock, alt country, and if I'm in party mood the best music for me is some nice House mixes!

Many of my favorite books are by German authors, but Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and The Colour of Magic are two of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing moment in my life was on Vancouver Island.
I was sitting at a lighthouse and watching the sea, as some wh ales crossed the shore and jumped out of the water.
My heart stood still for a moment!
