About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To spread joy and knowledge wherever I go

ABOUT ME

I am a fledgling Latinist/Theologian from Canada who is quite fond of living in Edinburgh and does not yet miss Toronto heat waves (!!). I am fond of literature, primarily ancient, mediaeval, children's, and science fiction. I also like superhero movies. I am going to spend the next three years of my life studying fifth-century AD Latin texts (papal letters); to balance this, I collect stamps and paint model soldiers. I am married to a wonderful woman who puts up with and even loves my various oddities from ancient theology to monks to voyageur songs to Highland dancing and the smell of model-soldier paint.

I try to be a conscientious houseguest. I spent a year as a manny (male nanny) between the two master's degrees.

PHILOSOPHY

While the truest and greatest joy and happiness is found in God alone, I love people of all sorts, shapes, and sizes, and my own theological objectives tend not to get in the way of forging great friendships with varieties of people that also help to deepen joy and happiness.
