My mission is to travel and photograph the different places that I may find.
Hello! I recently (7/2011) left my job in order to embark on an adventure of travel and photography. Why am I doing this, you might ask. Well because I felt as though I wasn't in love with my own life. There was no passion, no adventure. My days consisted of waking up, going to work for long hours, coming home, sleeping, waking up just to repeat the previous day. Of course I had great friends and hobbies (dancing, photography and more) to fill my spare time but I felt there was just more to it. I would sit at my desk and stare out the window day dreaming about would it would be like to just be out there. Since I don't have many things tying me down right now, I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to pack up and travel. My goals for the next year or so of my life, to travel, photograph, create my photography website, go to South America and learn Spanish to name a few.
I believe in enjoying the journey. Life is not about putting off happiness till tomorrow, it's about finding joy in whatever it is that you are doing in the present moment. It may not always be easy but that is what life is all about; challenges and lessons learned so we can continue to grow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be doing a lot of traveling over the next year so I won't have the opportunity to host anyone. But I'm conscious of what I'm going through and when I do have a place of my own I will be sure to make my place available so I may return the favor.
I'm very new to the CouchSurfing community but that is not to say that I have not stayed on my fair share of couches. I understand that I'm staying in someone's home and it is my top priority to be respectful towards my host. It's very important to follow any rules, clean up after myself, and be grateful to have the opportunity to meet new people, have a place to stay and shower.
My interests include photography, dancing, art, cooking to name a few.
I'm currently working on a photography website to showcase my travel destinations. I like shooting portraits, architecture, landscapes, and just walking around doing street photography. I'm building my website all on my own because I'm interested how coding works and I love a good challenge.
I've been dancing for the last six years or so. I started out doing ballroom and then found Argentine Tango and West Coast Swing. Both really cool dances that focus on musicality and connection but two completely different dances.
Music, Movies, and Books
A couple of my favorite movies would be Shawshank Redemption and City of God.
Favorite book right now would be Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Which reminds me, I find it said how book stores are closing down. I love going to a book store and getting lost in so many different subjects.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm an Ironman.
Growing up I use to watch the Ironman Triathlon that took place in Kona, Hawaii on TV. I was awe struck over these individuals who would set out to compete in a grueling race that stretches over 140 miles. Watching these athletes, I grew to admire their determination, optimism, and ability to sacrifice for a greater cause. The Ironman is not just a race that tests one's physical ability but tests all aspects of one's self.
In 2006, it was my opportunity and I seized it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn how to sail.
I can teach someone about photography or dancing.
