Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite type of music: anything that makes you want to dance or go for a run
Favorite Movies: Love Sydney Poitier. Especially "Lillies of the Field " and "Guess Who's coming to dinner". But these days I seem to gravitate towards comedy.
Favorite authors: Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Edward Said, Eric Fromm, George Orwell, Bertrand Russell, Arundhati Roy, Oliver Sacks, Steven Jay-Gould......
And I love children's books. My favorite illustrator/author team are Audrey and Don Wood. I wish I had their talent.
Favorite food: Chocolate Chip Cookies. Somebody should give the inventor of this simple delight distinguished recognition for their culinary genius!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As an educator one of my primary objectives is to assist students in expanding their framework of thought. To exercise dissent and challenge authority. To lead their own lives shaped by their own ideological perspectives. If I have at any point accomplished this with at least one of my students....that would be my great achievement.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that by opening a channel of communication with those that share an alternative viewpoint and lifestyle to your own serves as the perfect platform for learning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am told that I am pretty good at cooking fish. My wife on the other hand is in a league of her own. She tends to wow everyone with her skills. In exchange for staying at your place we will buy the food ourselves and make you dinner :)
