Traveling the West Coast, meeting new people, learning all we can, and teaching what we know!
We met in October 2011 at Art Outside, a burner/electronic/art festival in Austin that is absolutely amazing. It was immediately apparent that we had a lot of the same goals and wanted to travel to the same places. We love to read, write, make clothes and jewelry, and spin fire, among many other activities. On the day after Christmas we left our Texas lives behind to hit the West Coast and meet as many like minded people as possible, spreading the love and the desire to thrive off our natural resources. Our ultimate destination is HOME, Burning Man 2012.
We are here to thrive, yet our resources are being claimed and hoarded by the wealthiest members of society. We are part of a culture that fights to change this. We live by the principles of Burning Man: decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, gifting, communal effort, participation, immediacy, civic responsibility, radical inclusion, and leaving no trace.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are not able to get verified because we left Austin too quickly to receive a postcard. However, we have dealt with many different and unique types of traveling situations and look forward to meeting as many nice people as possible. We're thrilled to be traveling the West Coast! We can't wait to have conversations with people from all over the world and be able to learn and teach about subjects we're interested in.
I've always been interested in the couchsurfing project and was lucky enough to have an awesome first experience with a couchsurfing ambassador in San Francisco for New Year's. I love meeting new people and experiencing different ways of life from all over the world. I can't wait to couch surf overseas and be able to host people in my own home!
