About Me

Getting to know my new home in Louisville!

I grew up in the northwest u.s. and have moved around a bit since then, bouncing from the northwest to the east coast and back out west again. I've traveled to Europe a number of times, but never for more than a couple of weeks and many times for work. I've worked as an engineer in the wind industry ever since I graduated college, and just returned to the states after taking a year and a half off to travel the world. I dreamed about taking a year to do some serious traveling since I was sixteen but never did so because I was waiting for someone to go with me and was always too scared to do it on my own. I never found someone to travel with me, but I figured it I didn't do it now, it probably wasn't going to get any easier if I waited so I went, and it was amazing.

To enjoy my brief stay on this glorious green earth by having as much fun as humanly possible, while being a great daughter, sister, friend, lover and caretaker of the beautiful natural wonders that surround me wherever I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting and exploring other peoples couches! I love to meet new people!!!

My one surfing experience was amazing - my hosts were so great! I was in the area for a community wind conference, which I was taking vacation time to attend and my hosts lent me a car, shared wonderful stories of their lives and took me to the best ice cream shop in town!!! Thanks again.

I love to spend my time outside with good friends and family. You will often find me backpacking, rock climbing, biking, running, doing yoga, or playing Frisbee. I would love to get in the water more - on a surfboard or in a boat! I am easygoing, playful and love to read...

When I am traveling I love to meet new people, eat good food, learn to cook local dishes, go out dancing, and generally immerse myself in the culture I am visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge fan of movies, books and music. I love seeing live music, curling up on a rainy Tuesday evening with a great movie, and books - oh books, how I love you.

Right now I'm in love with music from the 20's, french cafe, and Dub Step, but my interests in general are quite varied. I love the classics like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin, and Joni Mitchell; Jazz, Classical and a whole lot of modern rock. I love discovering new bands and am traveling the world with 80GB of music to keep me company if I should happen to get lonely ;)

I better leave books and movies for another day...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have swam with bioluminescent plankton in the sea off the coast of Ko Lanta, rafted the entire length of the Grand Canyon, swam in glacial lakes of the North Cascades, bike toured from Berlin to Rostok to Cape Arkona on Rugen Island, and so much more. Can't wait to know what you've seen!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a private pilot and an amateur sailor. I love to cook a lot and carry the recipes for a great apple pie and biscuits with me wherever I go. I have been in the wind industry for the past 6 years so I know quite about that too...
