ABOUT ME

Music is my raison d'etre and I like to write songs from whenever inspiration strikes. But travelling for me is definitely a close second; getting out and seeing the world and broadening your scope in the scheme of things. I heard that most people die within 50 miles of where they were born so I figure spending time abroad will possibly increase my longevity. I like learning languages, and making stupid puns that I usually find funnier than anyone else.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this group in an official capacity, but keen to broaden my contacts further because (see below).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've unofficially couch surfed many times, mostly with people I met while hitch-hiking. Italy, Austria, Norway, Spain, even back home in Oz. It has always been a great experience and the memories of them are strong. I've returned the favor a few times with fellow travellers, which is also cool.

Intereses

Playing guitar and trumpet. I love playing card games (especially scopa), chess, and other board games. I'm a fan of cooking for people, especially dishes I've learned while travelling. I periodically knit things. Gardening. Finding new spoonerisms.

Favorite books include Midnight's Children, The Blind Assassin, Middlesex, Cloudstreet, The Dark Tower, and Cloud Atlas.
Movies: I like animation, Woody Allen movies, Coen Bros, and documentaries. A fan of series like The Sopranos, The Wire, et al. Love the Simpsons.
Music: jazz, folk, rock, some punk, country, classical, electronic, pop, little bit of hip-hop even.

I climbed the walls of the Acropolis in Athens cause I was too cheap to pay the entrance fee. Scared the shit out of a tour group when I suddenly appeared in front of them!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I could teach you how to make a mean curry. How to play a devilish flatten fifth on the guitar. How to knit, purl and drop stitches.

I wouldn't mind learning mahjong.
