trying to make some constructive contribution, whether big or small...hopefully both from day to day
I'm interested in discovering alternative ways of thinking, where money isn't the most important value.
I value nature and creativity over the rat race and am especially interested in seeing greater equality for all.
learning is a lifetime process
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
at this point i don't have a couch to offer. i'm traveling and on the move. but where-ever i am would be happy to introduce other travelers to local sights, hidden gems, like great restos, clubs, galleries and parks.
Music, art and social justice! Keeping a balance in a technology driven world by maintaining contact with nature and people. If that's not possible? Then cooking is a good alternative!
I love to meet people; that is one of the main pleasures of travel.
Music, Movies, and Books
electronic music...but generally all 'good' music ;)
early 20th c fiction like steinbeck and sinclair lewis. films from billy wilder, hitchcock to the cohen bros & terence mallick. documentaries in general.
fan of jon stewart and stephen colbert...isn't everyone?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Coming face to face with a painting by Matisse that I had seen many times in books. I didn't know it was to be in an exhibition, then I turned a corner and there it was. Took my breath away.
Driving along the coast of Big Sur, so beautiful. Same with the karsts in Thailand.
Can't wait to see the Amalfi coast in Italy.
Any political moment that results in freedom, even if I can only experience it via a distant media like television or internet. The Berlin Wall coming down, the end of apartheid in S. Africa. It gives me hope.
