Pick up all my hobbies, finish writing my book, and travel as much as I can!
Obsessed with Ireland, my Irish family, and the Irish language - along with many other languages too. Love linguistics, travel, and meeting all kinds of new people. Excellent gourmet cook, very generous, loves music and the arts, loves good craic, and indulging in drink. Wonderful with children and animals. Very social and engaging. Total science nerd.
Much with the study of waves in the universe, sound, economics, and the sea so does life have its ups and downs. We are ever evolving and changing. There can be the happiest times in the worst situations of life and the loneliest times when you think you've obtained everything and have a want for nothing. One must always persevere no matter what and all those things you hold most dear to you should be intangible and not based around possessions. It is the experiences with people and the obtaining of knowledge that make us grow. For we enter this life with only our experiences and our capability to comprehend, and leave life only with those experiences and the knowledge we've obtained. Be good to your fellow man always, it will carry you far beyond your wildest imagination.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Another way to connect with people. I am very social and it can be hard move after move to forge new meaningful trustworthy passionate long term relationships. I have hosted people, friends, family and while couchsurfing may not be a new concept in my life it is great there is a place where locals and people traveling can find each other alike.
I love to study anything that keeps me active and engaged like building things, cooking and canning, exploring, meeting new people, hiking, visiting new places, and even just hunker down with a good glass of wine and a movie. Love history and to read. I also love to study many different languages. Currently working with Gaeilge most, but experience with Espanol, Nihongo, and a splash of Deutsche.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I owned a house in Sebastopol, California, where I built a miniature farm of my own. We had Barbados Blackbelly sheep, Rhode Island Red Chickens and Roosters pecking at my feet, all the while the wild pigs we were raising could be heard in the distance, and a happy kitty purring half asleep in my lap with a strong sea breeze. I felt I could never be happier in life.
I have traveled much so alas no longer in that California with homes I had many. Even as of the last 3 short years I lived in Greater Cincinnati area and am in now in Florida.
I've also gone on a once in a lifetime trip with friends down the San Juan River from New Mexico to Arizona. It was simply amazing and I'd love to share the story with you. If you don't know, it takes a decade or more to get permits to go if you don't go by an organized tour. Which happily, someone was wise enough to get one for us to all go personally.
I'd also love to talk about my travels through Ireland. I literally saw almost 3/4 of the country in the time that I was there. I love to drive thankfully! And had family living there to finish my trip. There are some really wonderful stories of humor and language to share about it.
