ABOUT ME

I am retired and travel as much as possible so I can meet people from different cultures and learn about their countries. I am curently traveling around the world on frequent flyer miles. I also drove across the US, so I could learn more about my own country.

I do a lot of photography, love nature, especially love elephants. In Thailand, I learned to be an amateur mahout.

PHILOSOPHY

To live as honestly and well as possible as a citizen of the world. To form friendships with as diverse a world community as possible. To respect the differences and the similarities between myself and others.

I have just joined Couch Surfing and look forward to learning more about the project and the members.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have CouchSurfed in many countries and many cultures. I find it is the best way to learn about the people in any culture. I recently went trekking in northern Vietnam and spent 2 nights in minority hilltribe homes. I loved meeting my hosts and learning about their daily lives.

The most amazing thing I have recently seen is the Mt. Everest Base Camp in Tibet. I saw this with my Tibetan guide from whom I learned so much about the Tibetan feeling for Urulu--Mt. Everest--and about Tibetan culture and heritage.
