ABOUT ME

I'm pretty outgoing and trusting, with a great sense of humour (well... at least I think I do). I love films and filmmaking and can talk your ear off about it. Or at the very least help you set up your home entertainment center.

I love telling stories, and hearing yarns that others weave, and am interested to meet more gregarious people in my travels!

(My photos are a bit out of date, and I haven't any new ones on my laptop... basically I don't have a ponytail anymore. And for some reason it won't let me say that I live in Nova Scotia now!).

PHILOSOPHY

hrm, my personal philosophy eh? Well, seeing as how nothing lasts on this planet including wealth or material objects, but we do tend to run our lives from past experiences and are always looking for happiness and balance, I would say that life should be lived in accordance to having as many different experiences as possible and sharing these experiences with others.

The Universe is constantly trying to move toward a balance, yet to accomplish this balance would create stagnation and void, and so life was set in motion to tilt the scales of balance in one direction or another so that there is constant movement. Maybe that was way too deep for a couch surfing site...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling to Italy (and checking out Europe) and would love to meet the locals and learn more about where I'm visiting!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Unbreakable, The Lion King, American Beauty, The Village, Way Down Town, Fido, Old Boy, Solo, and too many others to mention.

Music: I listen to pretty much nothing but instrumental movie soundtrack scores. Hans Zimmer (who is a bloody genius), James Newton Howard, Marc Mancina, James Horner, John Williams, etc. I also like Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler, and Daft Punk.

Books: 1984, the Incarnations of Immortality series, Fear Nothing, Seize the Night, Odd Thomas, Hitchhikers 5 book trilogy, The Stopwatch Gang, The Great Train Robbery, The Stainless Steel Rat, The Myth Adventures of Aaz and Skeeve.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once made an entire bus load of people sing a rousing chorus of 'The Wheels on the Bus' until the bus driver stopped.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a video editor and visual effects artist by trade. I can teach you that if you like! Although it might take some time, but I'm more than willing to show different software.

I can teach you how to crack an egg with one hand, and how to do the 'French Palm' magic trick with a coin (I used to do magic shows when I was a kid).

One of my passions is psychology, mainly through observation, and I feel I have a lot of insights into how people think and work, which I would love a discussion in.

I'd love to learn French and Jazz Piano. :)
