To spread peace with my mighty sword of justice.
I'm a pretty upbeat guy- I just try to see the best in every person or situation and have fun!
Scale down, slow down, drink up - trust your gut and give it some gusto.
Piss your pants with laughter once a day without fail.
Wash your pants regularly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly hosting so far. Looking forward to surfing.
I like it informal. My house is your house (at least for the people who have surfed with me), no pressure, everyone do your own thing. I find the best CS experiences come from a relaxed approach.
Sleeping bags, mittens, long underwear etc.(collectively known as "warmies")
Voluntary Simplicity (which ironically always involves a lot of explanation)
Appalachian fiddle tunes.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like music that really rocks the fiddle hard. Ashley MacIsaac's "Hi How Are You Today" album and the Smashing Pumpkin's "Siamese Dream" are my musical pillars.
I generally read non-fiction. Chomsky gets me going but I still don't know enough about him. I've been reading about money (what is it anyway?) and food systems as well. Future dystopian novels are great too!
Horror Movies! I love a good spook.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I paddled 1400 miles only to sink in the Mississippi and get "can't move my fingers style" hypothermia.
That, or Village of the Damned starring Christopher Reeve and Kirstie Alley. It will make you glad the 90's are over.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the fiddle or most instruments with strings.
I would like to learn (and would be happy to teach) about the cultivation of mindfulness mainly through meditation.
