About Me

ABOUT ME

PLEASE NOTE: I will not reply any messages requesting for a couch because I have already indicated that I don't! Please respect that, thank you!

"the average person thinks he's not"- that's me! an average person, interested in some maybe-not-so-average things.

easy-going.. one of my best friends once told me that i think everybody's nice. (but i do like people who are genuinely nice!) and i'm willing to try everything! (barring drugs, smoking, drinking too much and causing bodily harm to other persons)

friends are v important to me and i try to stay in contact with almost everyone i meet. i'm a facebook/twitter addict!

proudly effectively bilingual in english and chinese! hoping to be tri/quad/quin-lingual!

Interests

everything thats fun, funny, original, beautiful and meaningful

including travelling (esp planning my own trips), dance, food, books, coffee, cats and other animals (except snails and flying insects), board games, bargains, supermarkets/markets, beaches etc.

Music, Movies & Books

so you think you can dance! and the bbc series sherlock.

fav movies that i can think up at the moment:
before sunrise, before sunset, anything with jake gyllenhaal in it, ip man, grease, dirty dancing 2 (i hate dirty dancing 1 though), eat drink man woman (for its ridiculous plot), black swan, pulp fiction, the flowers of war, let the bullets fly

music:
lady gaga, sergio mendes, olivia ong, regina spektor, adele, linkin park, alicia keys etc.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

-performing on stage after lots of practice and sweat and tears, and sharing that awesome moment with awesome people who've been through the practices and sweat and tears with me

-the jul 09 hamburg salsa congress

-being totally SWALLOWED by a wave in malaysia and flipped 360 degrees in the water

-taking the 'silver star' rollercoaster at europa park (germany) and finally daring to throw my hands up (i always used to CLING onto the safety harness). 90 deg drop! woots!

-standing alone outside our beijing apartment at unearthly hours of the morning watching the first snow of the year fall quietly

-raft ride down 漓江 (Li River)

-staying in 侗族 & 壮族 Chinese minority tribe villages

-galloping on a horse in inner mongolia (my horse tripped and gave me the shock of my life but still, it was cool!)

(ok that's more than ONE amazing thing!)

Teach, Learn, Share

i can teach how to speak singapore's unofficial national language, Singlish!

what i have to share: singapore ghost stories! and i would LOVE to hear some in exchange. i get freaked out really easily but i still like listening to them.

love listening to all other kinds of stories too!

i want to learn so many things!
on the top of my list:
*MORE dance (especially contemporary/jazz/hip hop/salsa/west coast swing)
*languages (especially german and sign language; and improve my Chinese dialects)
*guitar
