About Me
A bulletspeed background:
I'm an undergraduate student in my mid-twenties at UC Berkeley. This summer I find myself traveling into Japan, between an internship in Mumbai, India and a study abroad program for which I'll be spending the coming fall semester in Turkey.
I spent most of my childhood in South India with my grandparents-- have been living in the US since 2000. Most of my US years have been spent in Southern California, about an hour and half south of LA, but since I started attending UC Berkeley, I've been a lucky resident of the Northern California's Berkeley-Oakland-San Francisco area--i.e., the Bay.
A few things I like:
just about any and every art-related thing; photography; wandering around cities; wandering around nature; getting to know people...
Countries I've been to:
India & the U.S.; Trinidad and Tobago (2004); extremely briefly--Thailand (2009); England (2010); Ireland(2010); Switzerland(2010); Singapore(2015)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Whether I'm the traveller or the host--I love the idea of staying at a local's place rather than a rather isolated hotel room! I haven't tried this before but at least in theory, this set up opens up Place in a totally interactive and interesting way. I think it is awesome that this set up allows you to meet new people and have a sort of alternative experience of a new place. In my hometown I'm always really excited to meet people who are new in the area, whether travellers or new residents, and love taking people around to my favourite haunts.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is way to hard, in that there is so much great stuff out there and I'm always stumbling upon new things... and so many old things are still "oldies but goldies". I guess my recent "most played" artists are LCD Soundsystem; New Order; Giraffage; and Shura.
What I Can Share with Hosts
