to feel the fear and do it anyway.....
i have had quite a crazy childhood...i am half Polish half Mauritian, i was born in Poland and grew up in England, Poland, Greece and Zimbabwe. I don't remember going on family holidays just living in various countries...hehehehe...i lived in each of these countries before the age of 10...so you could say i was a professional gypsy from an early age!!! :D
I have lived in england for the longest period of time and therefore see it as my home. I definitely feel more british than anything else and am proud to be an Londoner (even though many are convinced i am from a "warmer" culture for some reason) :D ...BUT regardless, that hasn't stopped me exploring...later, without my family i also lived in France (Paris), Spain (Granada for erasmus) and now in Rome (the most beautiful, amazing and CRAZY city!!)...
on the positive side, this nomadic life style has BROADEND MY HORIZONS and helped me to ADAPT to different situations as well as making me quite OPEN MINDED and UNDERSTANDING of our CULTURAL DIFFERENCES.
my travels have taught me to be VERY GRATEFUL for everything i have (after seeing the harsh conditions some people live in, and noticing they didn't complain but were even happy for what they have)...and i have also learnt to APPRECIATE the KINDNESS i experienced from both people i know and from total strangers (in the end NO ONE IS OBLIGED TO HELP YOU...).
i don't believe in having regrets, i prefer to think of those decisions people may consider "mistakes" as learning experiences... :D
i am very grateful for everything i have...i remind myself that the things we take for granted are not available to everyone. MANY, many others in this world live through injustices and atrocities on a daily basis.
.."la verita' e' nel fondo di un pozzo: lei guarda in un pozzo e vede il sole o la luna; ma se si butta giu' non c'e' piu' ne' il sole ne' la luna, c'e' la verita'"...
we need to be strong when it's required, but not to the point that you forget your sensitive side....it's what makes us interesting and HUMAN.
"you give little when you give of your possessions. it is when you give of yourself that you truly give"..
Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
"remember people will judge you by your ACTIONS, not your INTENTIONS". - Maya Angelou.
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered âÃâ¬ÃÅMan. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.âÃâ¬ÃÂ
âÃâ¬ÃÅCare about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.âÃâ¬ÃÂ
âÃâ¬ÃÅKnowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power. If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.âÃâ¬ÃÂ
as a good friend would say "ci sono tre modi per vivere : quello giusto, quello sbagliato e il mio!"......be positive, life's too short not to be!! :D
have i written enough?? hhehehehehee... :D
TRAVELLING, salsa dancing, meeting new and interesting people...LISTENING and LEARNING from them, and SHARING a part of me and some of my experiences.... working (only joking!! even though i am lucky enough to enjoy what i do), MUSIC, concerts, theatre, art, movies, photography, doing whatever makes me feel happy.....IN ANY CASE DANCE, dance, DANCE!!! :D

Music, Movies, and Books
very ECLECTIC taste... anything cool...and it depends on my mood.
movies : generally INDEPENDENT films and documentaries (not the typical blockbusters that try to make you cry and nothing else). Here in Rome i don't possess a TV...by choice, there are so many other interesting things to see and do! (even sleep on the odd occasion!!) :D
music: bit of EVERYTHING..from pop, jazz, classical, rock (indie/alternative), latin, bossa nova, acoustic.....and much more even though i don't know what some of the genres are called..good music is good music regardless of what it may be called. :D
books: anything that makes you QUESTION or THINK for yourself...(regardless of subject) or just a classic novel with a good plot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
a few cool things i have done :
- white water rafting down the Zambezi river (grade 5 rapids!!) i started to pray and i am not even religious... :D
- going gliding (and flying it!!..too cool)
- scuba diving in the red sea (depth of 30meters) and swimming with dolphins...:D
a few more "personal" experiences :
- laughing so much that i have tears in my eyes and my stomach aches (LOVE IT!!!)
- crying out of happiness (and not sorrow)...when seeing or experiencing the best side of human kindness, out of this world!
- knowing true friendship and trust.
- being still and in touch with your feelings, when there's no need for words.
some amazing things i have seen :
- the pyramids at Giza on Christmas day, no snow or traditional food..but camels and sun!
- the taj mahal...quite surreal when you are there in person.
- the victoria falls in zimbabwe.. nature never fails to amaze me. :D
