About Me

I am a wayward nomad Canadian, who obviously loves to travel. I am truly happiest with a backpack on my back and a ticket to...anywhere. Traveling has basically become my lifes obsession, and I love it.

As of this September I will be living in Cairo for a year teaching English. I am super excited to spend more time in the crazy "mother of the world" that is the chaos of Cairo!

Besides travel, i like many things. I love art in all its forms, particularly the written word. I love learning new things and being inspired by new settings, i love adventures and good company, and also being alone. I enjoy a free spirited life and having all my most important possessions in one bag.

Traveling and writing go hand in hand for me, as changing scenery and absurd situations bring fresh perspectives and knowledge of the world leads to better knowledge of myself. I have done some "travel writing", and hope to do more of it in the future.

"Those who do not move, cannot feel their chains"

"I have learned to walk: since then I have run. I have learned to fly: since then I do not have to be pushed in order to move. Now I am nimble, now I fly, now I see myself under myself, now a god dances within me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I obviously like meeting people of different cultures!! Its great to just meet for coffee or tea or beer or whatever and explore new places with the help of someone who actually lives there! I think this site is amazing and my traveling experiences have been so much better because of it. Im not so concerned with finding a "free" place to sleep...and often stay in hostels just for the central location, but i ALWAYS love to meet up with locals and spend time with them. Couchsurfing is about who you meet, not just saving money!

Once im settled down (maybe) one love to repay the favour and help out other travelers! until then, i will just try and engage as many people i come across in my adventures, in good conversation and hopefully they enjoy the experience as much as i surely do. :)

so many great experiences. I met amazing people off of here in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Turkey and Morocco... hung out alot, stayed with several couchsurfers in various places, from a tent in the Wadi Rum Desert to a blockaded suburb of Damascus during the beginnings of the uprisings. Every experience i have had has been memorable!
