Travel the world, learn about other cultures and people, and continually grow as a person
I'm a fun, caring person looking to travel the world, gain new experiences and get to know different people!
I'm currently studying World Literature in Vancouver Canada, and soon will be taking my studies abroad. I hope to become a counselor or arts therapist in the future. I speak English, Spanish and French all fairly well, and am learning Catalan atm.
I try to be as true to myself as possible, honest, and also caring and respectful of other people. Life is beautiful, and we should all try to make each other's days a bit brighter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I'm preparing for several months of travelling, so I will be primarily a surfer. I am a very considerate, friendly guest, willing to help clean up or cook and eager to make new friends.
In the future when I have my own place I'd love to host people in return :)
I'm brand new to the Couch Surfing website, though I have I suppose "couchsurfed" with friends and family at home and abroad in the past. One of my friends who's hosted me at her place a couple times introduced me to the website and I'm excited to use this wonderful tool for cultural exchange in the future. I love how couchsurfing can make travelling more personal and meaningful.
I love to ride my bike, listen to music, watch movies, theatre plays, shows, etc. I can't imagine life without dance (I can salsa, swing, and more!). I also love taking walks in nature, spending time with friends, and writing.
Music, Movies, and Books
Seeing as I'm a World Literature student I absolutely adore books, especially "armchair travelling" with books from other countries. Favourite include Milan Kundera (Ignorance), Edeet Ravel (A Thousand and One Nights), Jodi Picoult (My Sister's Keeper), "Burnt Shadows", "Cry, My Beloved Country", Julio Cortazar (Hopscotch). I also love classics like Greek mythology, Flaubert, Goethe, etc. and any kind of poetry.
Movies- so many, but I'm terrible remembering titles! Some favourites include Amelie, The Tree of Life, movies by Almodovar, and The English Patient.
Music- I like a wide variety of music, depending on my mood. Classical, jazz, swing, pop, rock, folk, opera etc. I'm always on the lookout for new bands and artists. Most of my favourites are in Spanish and Italian (Miguel Bose, Amaral, Shakira, Bebe, Mecano, Laura Pausini, Tiziano Ferro etc.) but I also love Adele and Coldplay.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach languages, salsa, have a few recipes up my sleeve. I love to learn other languages, recipes, and any kind of dance. I also love sharing favourite books, music and movies.
