About Me

Curious about people, the world, and the world of ideas. I'm open-minded, politically left, joyful, and adventurous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the world and meet some amazing, interesting people along the way.

Interests

I love to travel-- I'm always searching for stunning landscapes, hiking adventures, scuba diving destinations, and opportunities to learn from other people.

When I'm home I like to dance, ride my bike, read, go to cafes, cook delicious meals, go out with friends, and encourage them to go on spontaneous local adventures with me :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many artists to choose, but I can say with certainty that my favorite book is The Brief, Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. I also enjoy all of the short stories by Diaz and Kafka.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling to Mongolia on a whim. This was one trip where I did zero preparation and was amazed by the kindness and hospitality of local people. I took part in an antelope BBQ with a couple of Mongolian cowboys, hundreds of miles from cities or roads.

Biking through Yangshou in Southern China. The scenery was so amazing that I kept forgetting to look where I was going. Even though my friends and I got very very lost, we eventually found our way to the Dragon Bridge and jumped off of it into the river. It was probably the most wonderful, hectic, and mind blowing day I've had in China!

Wandering around Venice at 2 am. I had gone earlier in the day and really didn't get much out of it, trying to fight through the sea of tourists. Visiting in the middle of the night was a completely different experience. The streets were empty and the buildings were so beautiful they didn't look real.

Stumbling upon the San Jordi festival in Barcelona. My sister and I hadn't even heard of it before we arrived. It was a ridiculous experience- with thousands upon thousands of locals setting off fireworks, stumbling along the beach, starting bonfires, and jumping in the ocean until 6 in the morning.

What I Can Share with Hosts
