I'm learning to embrace change and to love more.
Where you invest your love, you invest your life.
'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these. [Mark 12:31]
I graduated from college in 2013 and have only used my photography minor since then. Life is more about your experiences and encounters. It's about the impact you have on others. I want to give without remembering and receive without forgetting.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
"....the main way we learn story is not through movies or books; it's through each other. You become like the people you interact with. And if your friends are living boring stories, you probably will too."
That's why I want stimulating interactions with new people!
I'm living in Yelm, WA until Oct 25th. Then roadtripping to Breckenridge, CO from Oct 25-Nov 1st.
I'm still looking for a place, but my goal is to live in Breck from Nov 1-May 1, 2016
The list only gets bigger...
listening to live music, making people laugh, craft beer, photography, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, horses, more horses, constant friendships, making new friends, giving/receiving massages, chai tea, good coffee, flannel, journaling, exploring....
- live music
- rock climbing
Music, Movies, and Books
I often forget that I like to read, then someone suggests a good book, and I don't want to stop reading. Currently my book of choice is A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller. From his book I've learned to live a better story.
"The whole point of a story is the character arc. You didn't think joy could change a person, did you? Joy is what you feel when the conflict is over. But it's conflict that changes a person."
Also - the Bible is the greatest story/handbook of all time. I live my life by it.
Currently my top favs:
the Avett Brothers, Bear's Den, Mat Kearney, Ben Howard, the Weepies, Lord Huron, Tycho.... so a mix of indie, alternative, electronica... My ears are open for suggestions ;)
I don't watch many movies. Instead I enjoy the tv show New Girl (probably too much)
Teach, Learn, Share
Everyone you meet has something to teach you. "One day you'll be just a memory for some people. Do your best to be a good one."
I can't say for sure what I'll teach you, but something good will come from our interactions.
