I was born in Canada. My parents immigrated from South Africa and Zimbabwe. I have a younger brother and sister who are my best friends. I have a dog named Gryffin who gets in my suitcase before I go away and I need to put on oven mitts to remove her.
I am almost finished law school and am trying to figure out to do with three months off this summer. I'm thinking camping in Ontario, driving a motorcycle to Tofino, BC and surfing, or going back to India. Any ideas - let me know!
"No Regrets". I've learned that I am far more likely to regret not doing something, than doing it... even if it doesn't turn out to be so much fun. If you don't do it, you will always wonder what could have been. If you do it and it sucks, you know not to do it again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just moved back to Toronto from Windsor, Ontario. I loved living in Windsor, but apparently it is not a hot travel destination since I never got a single message or couch request while I was there.
In Toronto, I hope to host surfers on weekends on my bf's couch - if he's down (it's his place). Otherwise if you like to party, drop me a line and we'll go out!
Two years ago I decided to take a three and a half month trip on my own. Three days into my 'round the world adventure things weren't going quite as I had planned. I was borderline starving after eating only bananas for the past 48 hours (new to Thailand I interpreted the smiling, nodding responses to my requests for vegetarian food as comprehension... but received fish in every meal!) I was feeling isolated in my dingy guesthouse room (possibly because I was lying on the bed for hours at a time calculating the cost of a plane ticket home, and brainstorming possible cover stories for family and friends). I finally dragged my degenerating body to the beach, rented a surfboard and began approaching every solo-swimmer in the water. After three non-English speakers I was beginning to lose hope... and then I came upon Louis. After a much needed surfing tip ("paddle when you think it's too early and when you think it's too late"), I caught a few waves and things began to look up! Louis invited me to dinner with his girlfriend Crista and I had a lovely evening. They told me all about couchsurfing.
Crista and Louis are kind, genuine people, and I am so happy I met them. If these are the kind of you get to meet on this network, I'm all in!!:)

Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you all about animal rights and the various reasons for attempting to live a cruelty free life. I will not, however, push you or preach to you. I think it's important to get this information out and let people make their own decisions.
I would like to learn about the community of whatever place I'm visiting. Even if it's just simple things like the favourite local hangout. I would also like to hear your story...
