I'm a 29 year-old filmmaker from Vancouver, Canada. My short films have played around the world at festivals in Europe (Clermont-Ferrand), Asia (Busan Short Film Festival), and North America (VIFF, FNC). My newest film, La Cartographe will be premiering in August 2018 at the Locarno Film Festival. I love meeting new people, especially anybody who would love to talk about art, philosophy, religion, and cinema over a long meal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel, it's usually to present new work at film festivals abroad. I like to tack sightseeing onto festival trips; it makes it easier to see new places without having to stress about fitting too much into a holiday visit. I love just visiting a place and walking its streets, immersing myself in its atmosphere, and getting to know its people. I find much inspiration for my own films while traveling abroad.
Filmmaking is my passion and my career; I love talking about practical methods but even more about theory and the philosophical and theological side of cinema. I am currently pursuing research (on the side) that investigates the question of cinema and Thomism. I love home cooking and healthy eating, as well as running and working out, though I am very much a work in progress on that side of things. In music, I love Renaissance polyphony (Victoria, Josquin) and Gregorian chant, as well as Baroque composers (Monteverdi!), electronic (Jean-Michel Jarre), Beach House, Arcade Fire, and many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's actually very recent - I was extremely happy to learn that my short film was accepted to the Locarno Film Festival, where it will be premiered in August. It's a major vote of confidence in my filmmaking that will help me make my first feature film in Canada.
